A word of warning before you dive in:

This is the principal's new series, returning in November. It continues the flirtatious, ambiguous style: the love is real, and so is the angst. The characters' little quirks will gradually fade with time. The story's main tone is still light angst and great love, centered on beautiful, poker-faced people. The first volume is a little disjointed because of the flashbacks, but once you get through it, the events become clearer and simpler.

So, this isn't much of a slow burn. The principal adores a bunch of poker-faced people living ordinary lives, and loves tragic romances where the dead return to life even more. A scheming, sharp-tongued man is good for you; I just want cold, passionate love so beautiful it makes my heart bubble over.

So, if you're taking the plunge, give me a try. If you love me, I'll love you even more. The principal bows and takes her leave...
