A Wooden Beauty in Korean Entertainment

I got the urge to write a story while reading, so I decided to make one of my own. It's a pretty common story about eight people, and I'll probably focus mostly on their trainee days. I don't know much about them, since I first encountered them through fanfiction. I was captivated by the emotions and characters described by so many wonderful writers. I know reality may not be so beautiful, but I was still moved, so I wanted to write a story like this. My protagonist isn't perfect and will have some traits that may be off-putting in real life, so consider this your warning. The title may have nothing to do with the story, since I'm really bad at coming up with names.

My writing is grade-school level, so please don't roast me.

I'm just a casual fan of BTS in real life, so there are things I don't know, and I don't really want to dig through their history. This is probably a semi-AU, so please don't conflate it with reality. If that's a dealbreaker, don't read it.

Story

Shen Chuyun had always been a slow-to-catch-on kid. It wasn't just math he struggled with. He seemed to be slower than other people at sensing just about everything.

Maybe people who are different always have to face unpleasant things. It hurt a little, but he still had music. Music could heal him and give him a way to express himself. Being on his own like this was pretty good too.

But sometimes he also felt lonely and helpless. Luckily, he met a wonderful group of friends. They accepted him despite his imperfections and helped him become a better person. This is great! Shen Chuyun thought happily.
