[He is the kind of lover who guides her, and she is the one his heart is devoted to until death]

Blurb One:

Shu Yi first meets Xue Fei outside a hot pot restaurant. She's being pestered by an unsuitable blind date and, mortified, just wants to get away as quickly as possible.

But he won't take no for an answer and reaches out to grab her. Shu Yi backs away in a panic, only to bump into a solid, muscular chest. She turns in alarm and sees the man behind her glancing at her blind date with a stern expression. In a low voice, he says, "Why are you still here?"

The man is exceptionally tall, about 1.9 meters, with a buzz cut that shows off his chiseled features. He has a commanding presence just standing there, and doesn't look like a good person.

Her blind date nods frantically, intimidated. "I'm going, I'm going." Then he turns and runs, not daring to bother her any longer.

Shu Yi watches him flee and feels relieved, but doesn't dare meet the man's eyes for long. She lowers her head and says carefully, "Thank you for helping me."

After a long moment, the man gives a low reply, his voice deep like strong liquor.

The hot pot restaurant remains noisy and bustling, while the two of them stand outside in silence.

Shu Yi feels nervous. She is just about to timidly say goodbye when...

The man's deep voice speaks first. "Haven't you met anyone suitable on your blind dates?"

Shu Yi's cheeks turn bright red, and she grows even more embarrassed. All she can manage is a soft "Mm," as an answer.

The silence returns. But to Shu Yi's surprise, when the man speaks again, he asks her earnestly:

"I'm on a blind date too. Want to give us a try?"

Blurb Two:

During their first summer together, Shu Yi and Xue Fei go on vacation to an old town in the countryside.

It's so hot, and she sweats easily. After only a few steps, she's already damp with sweat, so she takes out a tissue to wipe her face.

But Xue Fei pulls out a clean towel he's brought, wets it, and draws Shu Yi into his arms. He gently wipes her neck with the damp towel.

Shu Yi leans against his sturdy shoulder, lazily letting him do as he pleases. But whenever his rough fingertips brush her, she blushes and glares at him.

Xue Fei lowers his head to kiss her cheek and asks with a smile, "What do you want to eat later?"

Shu Yi shakes her head. "It's too hot. I don't feel like eating."

"You can't go without food." The towel in Xue Fei's hand moves from her neck to her collarbone. "How about Guilinggao? They should sell it in town."

Shu Yi is curious. "What's that? I've never had it."

Xue Fei: "Guilinggao is good to eat in summer. It cools you down."

Shu Yi blurts out, "Then you should be the one eating it. You need to cool down."

Xue Fei: ...
