Yu Xi is a horror movie buff who has watched countless films. When her parents pressure her into a blind date, she hears the man is also a horror fan, so she reluctantly agrees to meet him.
She orders a cup of milk tea, sits down, and the two start talking about horror movies.
"The women in horror movies are all just eye candy."
"When women are in danger, all they do is scream."
"At the worst possible moment, there's always some woman dragging the male lead down."
"Women are so stupid!"
Yu Xi can't take it anymore. She dumps her milk tea over the man's head. He angrily slams the table. "Everything I said is true. If you don't believe me, go watch them yourself!"
In a way, the man isn't wrong. Movies do tend to diminish their female characters. He just doesn't realize that this is because people's stereotypes about women have become deeply ingrained. So furious she can't sleep, Yu Xi logs into a horror forum late at night and accidentally clicks on a post.
When she wakes up, Yu Xi has entered another world. There, she will become the heroine (or a supporting female character) in one horror movie after another, taking part in the plot as it is livestreamed.
To earn coins, and even more to prove women's worth, Yu Xi rolls up her sleeves and grabs her weapons. Anyone who gets in her way dies, whether human or ghost.
From then on, horror movie heroines no longer suffer from aching backs or sore legs. They don't scream, drag others down, or die first as useless teammates. And so a legend is born in the horror livestream room:
When Sister Yu roars, the director shakes; when Sister Yu waves her hand, corpses pile up...
Seeing Yu Xi take down everyone all by herself, the viewers in the livestream room go wild!
Yu Xi: "Clear the level? Wait, your big sister still has to go save the world."
