Before Shen Chu could even refuse, he was sucked into this world. The only way to get home was to reach max level.

And so Shen Chu set out to find ingredients, level up and expand his restaurant, and unlock new dishes and skins.

Before long, a magical little eatery appeared in this world of scarce resources and harsh weather.

One bite of the spicy crayfish and you were hooked; the braised beef tendon with potatoes was unforgettable; the hot pot was addictively spicy; the soy-sauce chicken with rose petals was irresistible; and the braised pork was perfect with rice. Even better, these delicious dishes had healing properties, and customers came in an endless stream every day.

Shen Chu, who was usually unlucky, seemed to have a golden finger here. While other players struggled to attract customers, the Lucky Eatery was already booming. Shen Chu had earned enough to hire servers and now just waited for the coins to roll in every day.

While other players fretted over leaky roofs, Shen Chu had already repaired and expanded his eatery. Now he was grinding away for the limited-time "Summer in Full Bloom" decor skin. Fifty servings of pan-fried fish fillets, hurry it up!

When the apocalypse came, a military leader sacrificed the stranded Ji Lin to lure away the zombies so the others could escape, all for his own selfish reasons. He never expected Ji Lin's immense powers to awaken after he was infected, turning him into a zombie overlord and leaving humanity facing extinction.

After being reborn, Shen Mian decided to protect this big shot.

So while everyone else avoided the gloomy Ji Lin, Shen Mian went over to fuss over him.

While others fled in panic, Shen Mian helped Ji Lin, whose powers hadn't awakened yet, drive off the zombies.

While everyone else fought over supplies, Shen Mian shared the little green vegetables he'd grown in his ability space with Ji Lin.

Before long, an S-rank ability user appeared in the apocalypse. This big shot was exceptionally powerful and terrifyingly gloomy, yet he only liked staying by Shen Mian's side.

He also began doing a series of things that left everyone astonished: Shen Mian actually had him use his powers to grill fish for her, a ridiculous waste of talent. She even had him go out and pick vegetables for her, and he didn't object at all...

One day, while they were out on a mission, there was no restroom to be found in the wilderness. Shen Mian had to find a secluded spot to relieve herself. She glanced at Ji Lin, who was following close behind. "Can't you stay a little farther away from me?"

Ji Lin stopped and his face darkened. "No."
