I Really Like Your Wife

Dongzhi married the wrong man in her previous life and died miserably in a winter residence. Reborn, she began taking a close look at the dowry Liu Baizhou had already taken half of. Her parents were far away in Jiangnan, and she had no friends in the capital. Figuring out how to escape her husband's family with this pile of dowry had become a huge problem. -- Shao Mingjue had always known that the Jinshi Liu had a beautiful wife he kept hidden away. He had never cared, until one day he passed by the Liu residence and saw the beautiful wife purse her cherry-red lips, her soft eyes narrowing slightly as she slowly drew back the embroidered shoe that had been about to step out into the sunshine. “It's so hot. If I run away, I'll just get scorched to death. Forget it. I'll let that Liu fellow have me for two more days.” ...Huh. He raised an eyebrow. Liu Baizhou had initially been sincere in his affection for Dongzhi. But later, when he found out she couldn't cook, couldn't mend clothes, and never spared a thought for the household expenses, his tenderness faded and he grew disgusted with her. Fortunately, he would soon pass the imperial examinations and earn an official title. Then he would give her a letter of divorce and let her taste regret. But before Dongzhi could regret anything, he regretted it first. Because he was disgraced, and his wife ran off with another man. Only then did Liu Baizhou remember that Shao, the Deputy Commander of a Thousand, was the leader of the secret organization, yet for a while had inexplicably been friendly with him. Once, when Liu Baizhou was dead drunk, Shao put an arm around his shoulder and whispered in his ear, “I want to sleep with your wife. You don't mind, do you?” If he remembered correctly, the thing pressed against his waist at the time... seemed to have been a knife. * The scumbag husband gets what he deserves. The male lead is a rogue with a bad attitude, shameless and self-righteous, a green-tea schemer who puts on an act and does everything he can to climb the social ladder every day.
