One of my ideas, still haven't figured it out yet.
Wen Ning is a Best Actress grand-slam winner who takes in a little demon fresh from the mountains.
She's very pleased with her: clever, efficient, and sweet-tongued.
Besides acting, Wen Ning also has to take down the bad guys that the Paranormal Affairs Office can't handle.
The little demon is a great fighter too. But when Wen Ning has to catch a ghost, the little demon is too scared to go near it and hides in a corner, eyes brimming with tears.
That's when Wen Ning learns she's afraid of ghosts. Huh?! What is she, then?
Oh, she's the Ghost King. Well, that's something.
Wen Ning keeps her secret identity under wraps, thinking that her unrequited love might just come to nothing because of their different species.
Then her secret identity is exposed. The little demon curls up under the covers, and Wen Ning regrets reaching out to stroke her head.
She's afraid of ghosts. She's afraid of me.
Just as Wen Ning, heartbroken, starts to pull her hand back, a claw pins it firmly in place. The little demon still doesn't dare come out from under the covers. She speaks in a muffled voice: "Don't leave. I'll... I'll try not to be afraid of you."
One day, the little demon's secret identity is exposed too.
Wen Ning looks at her true form, at a loss for words. "You're a lightning-struck tree, and you're afraid of ghosts?"
Lightning-struck wood has been a powerful weapon against ghosts since ancient times. She's a lightning-struck tree spirit, too. Even Wen Ning would have to give her a wide berth if she ran into her true form.
And yet she's afraid of ghosts?!
The little demon looks defiant and says stubbornly, "I'm afraid of ghosts! And I'm afraid of thunder!"
"Didn't I try to stop being afraid of you? What's with the shocked look, you silly ghost?"
