"Welcome to the Billion Worlds."
A fixer sounds like a glamorous and mysterious job. In truth, fixers are a group selected after death, tricked into earning more time for themselves while working for the rulers.
Why does this species of fixer exist? As our training instructor put it:
"The Billion Worlds are like a System. The bigger a system gets, the more likely it is to develop bugs. These bugs can cause huge changes in the lives of people in certain worlds. So your job as fixers is to repair the bugs and get the people suffering from them back on track. When you put it that way, it's a kind act, saving people..."
Saving people, huh. The heroes we hear about most throughout history are usually mourned after they're dead. This really doesn't seem like the kind of work anyone should be doing.
Theme: There are no fixers in life. Don't dwell on the past; live well in the present.
Emmm I'm fascinated by it, but it's pretty good. Is there any more?
Why does it feel weird and a bit creepy?
Come on, come on, come on
