Meow Boss Is Four and a Half

Shen Li is the coolest cat boss on the whole block.

She has the sleekest fur and sharpest claws around. No one dares touch the trash cans within two blocks unless Sister Li gives the word.

Even the human kid next door idolizes her and brings her tribute every week.

One day, the boss cat became a spirit.

The first thing she did was announce to all the stray cats within two blocks that the human kid in the big villa next door was under Sister Li's protection.

Lu Chang has an IQ of 180 and never forgets anything. So he will always remember what his name means.

"That character in your name means you have to remember: you must spend your whole life repaying your mother for her life."

That day, he ran out into the rain at night and found a kitten barely clinging to life in a trash can.

He left his scarf and hat behind, then went home and burned with a fever all night. Beneath a street-side trash can, the scarf had made a warm little nest for a tabby kitten.

One day, the tabby cat disappeared, and a little girl rummaging through trash appeared behind the bin.

The girl was instantly familiar with him. Wearing a tiny hair ornament she had dug out of the trash, she followed Lu Chang to the villa gate and said she had come to repay his kindness.

Looking at the broken bowl in the girl's hands and the string of stray kittens following behind her, Lu Chang suspected he was being scammed.
