[Lord of the Mysteries] If the World Had an End

“The truth that records history, the past buried and restored, the witness to what folds and unfolds, the one cherished by time and space, the great Antis Ward.”

Antis wakes amid a chorus of prayers.

She walks into the past, only to find herself again.

Unable to recover all her memories, she decides to find someone to do the heavy lifting, perhaps a certain evil god in the early days of his startup.

Fellow countrymen meeting in another world, tears streaming down their faces?

Not a chance. You're special, sure, but first, take a part-time job. It comes with benefits and a pension, but the boss mooches your meals and there's no housing included!

Klein: Friend, your character is falling apart!

Antis: Maybe that's just your imagination. Want a copy of the Fool's Bible?

The world's clock turns backward, the one destined to appear arrives, and the wheel of history rolls on. Who can hold on to their humanity amid madness and chaos?

And how will she, a mere observer, take part in a history whose outcome is not yet set?

If, if there really is an if...

“I pray for your gaze,”

“I pray for a wish.”

She stands at the end of time.

She sings a hymn to the gods.

Warning: This is an unconventional otome-style work based on Lord of the Mysteries. The plot has been significantly altered, the original storyline is summarized, and the story is serious in tone and slow to develop.

The story does not take the Circle of Inevitability plot into consideration. After Part One ends, it will move entirely into an original storyline. Please take note if that's not your thing.

There may be plot holes. If you spot any, mention them in the comments and I'll fix them!

Third-person narration. Klein is the main viewpoint character early on, and the heroine's perspective takes over for the most part starting in Volume Three.

There is original information related to the Outer Gods, and the author likes to be cryptic. If that's not for you, click away. There are other romantic storylines besides Klein's, and none of the relationships are purely about love.
