Tong Jun thought she had finally met a good person. But after hearing what the young woman told her and piecing it together with what she had experienced, Tong Jun realized something was wrong.
She was one of those indescribable monsters, and everything had happened because of her.
But the young woman seemed to know everything and had arranged it all.
And the Tong Jun from before had entered this situation herself to change everything, becoming the turning point in it all. The young woman was the player moving the pieces.
The young woman remade Tong Jun, stripping her of emotion and turning her into a cold machine.
Still, it was fortunate that the young woman's wish was the same as hers: innocent people shouldn't have to die far from home.
"I was born for this, and I will die for it.
But I have no regrets. I am more than just myself; I carry the burden of all my countless cycles of rebirth.
In every life, I have hoped to bring all this to an end."
Tong Jun understood that she would eventually cease to exist, and that no one might remember her.
But she was willing. The warmth she had known in life was enough to heal her.
Note: The protagonist has no romantic pairing, though parts of the story might feel a little like she's in love with herself.
But don't worry about it. They won't end up together.
