As a little fox who had been sentient for five hundred years but still couldn't take human form, Hu Tuantuan's greatest wish was to become human.

One day, she secretly heard that finding the benefactor from her previous life would let her successfully take human form.

So she took the karmic thread belonging to Bai Gu Niang from next door, quietly packed her bags, and went down the mountain to find her benefactor.

Her benefactor was tall and handsome, with the entire starry sky in his eyes.

She came to her senses and stumbled through her declaration of gratitude, her voice soft and sweet: Can I go home with you?

Lu Wenye was ambushed by his enemies. His family was destroyed, and he plummeted from the clouds into hell, where anyone could bully him.

One day, a little fox snuck into his home. It was covered in mud and looked utterly bedraggled. Even the sparrows in the courtyard could peck it on the head.

In a way, it suited his own predicament.

But this little fox was so silly and clumsy. It had sneaked into his courtyard, yet couldn't even hide its tail.

Lu Wenye was about to raise an eyebrow and chuckle when he saw the little fox carefully push some fruit onto the small tea table with its paw. Then he lowered his eyes and met the worried gaze of the little ball of fur in the corner, which thought it had hidden itself very well.

He froze in place.

A sweet short story.

Content warning: Before meeting the female lead, the male lead is a complete atheist, so the female lead is the one who falls for him first! But the male lead adores the little fox, so their relationship develops quickly.

The moment Mu Ting opened her eyes, she had become the wisteria-like female lead of an old-school replacement romance. According to the plot, on the day the male lead's first love returned from abroad, his mother would humiliate her, kicking off a story full of physical and emotional torment.

The woman before her was draped in jewels, wearing bright red lipstick, and looking arrogant. There was also a check on the table.

It was obvious: the plot's turning point had arrived.

Sure enough, the male lead's mother arrogantly pushed the check toward her with one finger. "Five million. Leave my son."

What a great deal!

Mu Ting moved even faster than the male lead's mother and whipped out a document. "Please sign this gift agreement. Do you have time to go to a notary together afterward?"

The male lead's mother: "...Huh?"

One neighborhood, two different worlds. On one side, the lights are bright and the parties never end; on the other, people have barely enough clothes to cover themselves, and the frozen dead lie along the roadside.

The moment Mu Ting got the money, she immediately chose a career that would let her conveniently watch the drama unfold: a notary.

At first, she only wanted to be a witness, watching the ups and downs of this novel's world.

At some point, a rising star appeared in the notarial field of Huahai Kingdom.

She is society's first line of defense.

The industry calls her an impenetrable fortress.

This is a plot-driven story, with very little romance.

It's a fictional world, and I've made up a lot of things to make the plot more interesting. Laws and procedures may differ from reality, which is perfectly normal. Fact-checking is just making things hard for yourself, so please don't apply this to real life, and don't learn legal rules from a novel.

After thinking it over for a long time, I decided to write about a little-known profession in the legal world: notaries. Since it's so obscure, many people don't know about it, so here's another warning: this isn't an educational story. The world is fictional, and while you may learn a little about the notarial profession, you won't learn everything. Please don't apply it to real life.

Finally, it's just for fun. As long as you're happy, that's what matters. I'm writing what I personally want to read.

I recently watched 2012 and The Day After Tomorrow, and they made me itch to write a survival infinite-flow story.

The possible apocalypse scenarios include pandemics and diseases, zombies, extreme cold and heat, land collapses, volcanic eruptions, global storms, animal evolution, and more.
