Why Won't You Let Me Take the College Entrance Exam?

Some things depend on the right time, the right place, and the right people. Take the right time, for example. Just as she was about to take the college entrance exam and leap over the Dragon Gate, she got hit by a car and died while stepping outside to deliver an umbrella. Take the right place. She thought she'd arrived in the Warring States period and was thrilled. After finally grabbing hold of Qin Shi Huang's powerful coattails, she found that the Battle of Changping had just ended, with the damn state of Qin having buried 500,000 Zhao soldiers alive. And although her heart was with Qin, her body was in Zhao. Then there's the right people. Other people transmigrate into the lives of princesses or heroines, blessed with either breathtaking beauty or a wealthy, powerful family. But she was a science student who'd become a maid. Worse, she'd mistakenly thought that being good at Chinese meant she understood history. Forget it... Let's not dwell on this depressing topic. Ruan Xiaoxiao was a woman who could claw her way through the dirt. As a child, she'd come within a hair's breadth of death, and as an adult, she'd been reviled by thousands. No matter how miserable she felt or what unbearable thing happened, she could always cry her way through a meal, then wake up the next day carefree and smiling again. She wasn't a good person in this life. She was sycophantic and devious, fawning over the powerful and trampling the weak. Whenever she did something good, she first calculated the pros and cons. She'd done plenty of bad things, but rarely made a mistake. Yet just two mistakes were enough to drive her completely mad. That year, in the bitter northern wind and snow, she let her compassion lead her to someone she should never have helped. Later, with the enemy at the gates, she betrayed someone she should never have betrayed. Theme: Ruan Xiaoxiao: I'm an impostor princess. Ying Zheng: What a coincidence, so am I.
