The Linde Hall, the Zhenguan Hall: sharing a bed in life, sharing a tomb in death.
As empress, she could not match her daughter-in-law’s domineering presence as she “ruled the realm,” nor could she rival the legendary former empress who “married five rulers.”
Yet her reign as empress and the Reign of Zhenguan became the dream and goal of generations of rulers to come.
How did a woman cast out by her own family become the most wise and insightful of empresses?
Changsun Wuchen was once the apple of her parents’ eye. But before their remains had even grown cold, her elder brother drove her from their home. Her uncle’s affection could not spare her the hardships of living under someone else’s roof. For the sake of the only family she had left, she pushed herself toward an abyss.
Li Shimin was a man with grand ambitions. His bold, unyielding nature drove him to break free of every restraint. He traded marriage for freedom and would stop at nothing to get what he wanted. In his restless life of ceaseless journeys and bloody battles, she was his only source of peace and warmth. Only she, gentle as flowing water, was worthy of standing with him atop the Tang Empire, looking down upon an age of peace and prosperity.
To make it easier for you to share your thoughts with me, I asked one of the lovely readers of Dancing in the Tang Dynasty to set up a group.

Thanks again to that lovely reader.
I didn't expect that 5 years after the end, at the end of 2021, I would read the best article about Empress Changsun that I have written so far. I specially registered a Jinjiang account for the author to write a comment. First of all, I would like to thank the author for his unremitting efforts to fill in the gaps from 2009 to 2016. Although it only took me a few hours to read this work today, the hard work involved is indescribable. I wish you a happy real life and smooth work! It has been almost ten years since I fell in love with Li Er and his wife. In fact, I have read basically all the novels mentioned in the Changsun Empress Bar. I am very helpless. Half of them are to deceive the other half because of their poor writing style and their preference for pure romance. So far, the most elegant piece of writing is a post called "The Joy of Zhenghe AB Side", but the author did not fill in the shortcomings of the short article; secondly, the story with the most complete integrity is indeed the romance of the Tang Dynasty, but the romance style is too exaggerated; The Supreme Good Like Water is not bad, but I don't like time travel... So I think that in general, Li Zhengdian is indeed the best work! You said that readers saved this book and saved you in the ups and downs, but why didn't you save us, the Phoenix Emperor and Queen fans? More than 1,400 years later, through historical materials and your words, I still understand the warmth, passion, and emotion of that time. Even though there are still no reliable film and television works about this couple, I still feel happy to have eaten this food.
Why, even though she said she had no regrets in her life, I still felt sour and uncomfortable when I saw the ending... This life seemed fulfilling and complete to people at the time, but how many people knew the sadness behind the light? In later generations, a large number of people of the same gender as her will only misunderstand and abuse her... Alas, why should a woman embarrass a woman, let alone a feudal woman who is used to suffering! If she is buried in Zhaoling, I hope her soul can rest in peace. If she is reincarnated, I hope Guanyin can be a carefree girl in modern times. TAT
After reading it, I felt disappointed. The combination of history and short stories made me feel like I had a big dream from which I finally woke up. Although it is from a first-person perspective, it feels like witnessing Wuchen's life through the eyes of a bystander, like a dream... Because it is a historical adaptation, there may be unshuangjie plots that may make some young readers uncomfortable, but you can feel the vigorous charm and vitality of the author's writing.
Li Zhi is most like Empress Changsun. Smart and capable. A little bit dark.
I finished reading it. Even though I knew it would end like this from the beginning, I was still very sad when I saw Queen Changsun passing away. I really cried. It was so well written.
Among her eldest grandson and so many children, only Li Zhi understands her best. Understand her best. Only Li Shimin and Li Zhi and his son can understand her outstanding style. Others don't understand.
Only then did I realize that it took the author six years to write this book. I was lucky enough to only wait a few months for the ending. I was moved but also regretful of such a hasty ending! Wuchen was a very powerful woman, and when she saw the beauty that looked more and more like Yue Can, she felt a little uneasy in her heart. She looked at Si Zi's clear and spiritual eyes, and suddenly felt distressed. She was still worried about her eldest son until the end! Maybe this is a mother's premonition! As the book says, all she can do for His Majesty is to try her best to protect their children and try her best to be a good queen. I can't help but think that perhaps Taizong in history also loved his wife in this way. So he kept Cheng Qian, so he personally raised Pheasant Nu and Si Zi. Unfortunately, just as the queen feared, Cheng Qian and Qing Que rebelled, and Li Zhi and Si Zi died young. If the Queen knew that Your Majesty was going to endure so much pain, would she have the heart to leave? Thinking of this, I can't help but feel that this ending is the best! Shimin's deep love for Wuchen is touching. There are so many beautiful people in the world, and I only bow down to you.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhinging crying, it was very well written, even though I knew the ending earlier, I still cried so much.
I always feel that Brother Wuji will not be a girl-controller, although his relationship with the Queen should undoubtedly be very good.
It is not easy to persevere in a book that has been written for so many years. The two phoenixes and the phoenix queen are described very well. They are flesh and blood and make people love them. It is really a good article. Looking at the prologue, I wonder if your work is going well now? I hope you are living a wonderful life now.
