Your Master Is No Tool

Your Master Is Not a Tool

One-sentence summary: He isn't, but I can be.

In his previous life,

Immortal-world powerhouse Ruan Huai could never find the benefactor who had helped him when he was young.

That is, until a new Void Refinement cultivator named Qin Wujiu suddenly appeared in the cultivation world.

Sensing the familiar aura of his benefactor on him, Ruan Huai helped him overcome every obstacle, cared for him in every way, and supported him all the way to the Mahayana stage. Only then did he learn that Qin Wujiu was actually the culprit who had forced his benefactor, Beiyuan, to sacrifice himself for the Dao.

Unable to accept the truth, Ruan Huai lost to his inner demon during his tribulation and perished.

In a haze, he heard a heavenly voice and learned that his world was actually a book. His benefactor had to die as a tool for Qin Wujiu's rise to power.

Ruan Huai could not accept this fate. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself back in the past.

This time, he would never allow his benefactor to become a stepping stone for the Heavenly Dao.

If Heaven wanted Beiyuan dead, it would have to step over his corpse first.

But something seemed a little off.

Why had that murderous Qin Wujiu shown up so early, and even become his benefactor's personal disciple? The shameless rascal was insisting that Ruan Huai become his junior brother.

Ruan Huai: ...Endure it. I didn't agree because of Qin Wujiu. I just want my master.

Qin Wujiu: As long as you're happy.jpg

Qin Wujiu waved his hand, and a pile of resources appeared.

Ruan Huai: I don't want your things.

Qin Wujiu: They're from Master. Want them?

Ruan Huai silently put them away.

Qin Wujiu: Master, he...

Ruan Huai: Master is not your tool. Stop running to him over every little thing.

Qin Wujiu: He's not a tool, but I can be yours.

Ruan Huai: ...Huh?

Master Beiyuan mused: You two are very close.

Ruan Huai: Master, don't let him fool you!

In his previous life, Qin Wujiu's master sacrificed himself to uphold the Dao, passing on everything he had learned to Qin Wujiu. This made Qin Wujiu the center of attention in the cultivation world, surrounded by enemies on all sides.

Only Ruan Huai treated him sincerely. Yet while Qin Wujiu was taking a lightning tribulation for Ruan Huai, Ruan Huai lost to his inner trial and died, his cultivation scattered.

Unable to accept this, Qin Wujiu used a secret technique to travel back in time and start everything over.

This time, he would protect Ruan Huai and keep him safe for the rest of his life.

The problem was, how could Ruan Huai only like Master Beiyuan?

He had to come up with something.
