A mystery story about human nature. After being deceived, Zhou Jin falls into depravity, then wavers as he reflects on himself. He doesn't even know whether he's good or evil. He's both a victim and the instigator of wrongdoing. The word "lies" has taken root in his mind like a malignant tumor, while Hu Ling'er is the surgeon who will cut it out. Whether the surgery succeeds depends on Zhou Jin, the one lying on the operating table.
Theme: This is an age lacking in self-evaluation, and not the kind with the word "correct" tacked on. Good or evil, right or wrong, we're all in it. Either you play the part or I do. What role you were born into doesn't matter. What matters is looking inward.
