Jujutsu sorcerer Fushimi Ren dies in an accident during a mission. When he wakes, he discovers he has been reborn in the body of a man named Fushiguro Toji.
Of course, he'd heard of the man once known as the Heavenly Restriction's Tyrant.
It seems Mr. Fushiguro had died as well, but his arrival has made him "live" again.
This brings Fushimi Ren back more than ten years, to the year his son, Fushimi Amemura, is seven years old.
And Fushiguro Toji, too, has been reborn in Fushimi Ren's body at this point in the timeline, because of his own death.
He thought Fushiguro Toji's solitary nature would keep anyone from noticing the switch, and that he could go on living this way.
But in less than two days, Fushiguro's son saw right through him.
"You're not my dad."
The six-year-old boy with the spiky hair stared warily at "Fushiguro Toji," who was wearing an apron and holding a spatula in the kitchen.
Fushimi Ren sighed to himself.
