Xu Lecheng never imagined he’d be getting married young, before even graduating from university. And to Fu Siyan, no less, the famously aloof and stern heartthrob who never courted attention or flirted with anyone.
For those who threw themselves at Fu Siyan and offered to share his bed, this would be a stroke of incredible luck.
But Xu Lecheng refused to accept an arranged marriage. He proposed a marriage of convenience to Fu Siyan, with each getting what they wanted, and firmly set his sights on divorce.
So Xu Lecheng played his part, hugged him when he was supposed to, and sweetly called him “husband” when the time came.
When Fu Siyan leaned closer... well, a kiss wasn’t out of the question.
When it was time to consummate the marriage, Xu Lecheng wrapped himself in the quilt and rolled to the far side of the bed.
Fu Siyan, meanwhile, did his duty. He gave Xu Lecheng face in public and took care of all his problems in private. When he was abroad on a business trip and learned Xu Lecheng was drunk, he flew home at once. When Xu Lecheng woke with a hangover and a pounding headache, Fu Siyan spent hours massaging his temples.
He showed no interest in anyone who openly or subtly tried to win him over, yet he indulged Xu Lecheng in everything and treated him like a treasure.
He was, in every way, a flawless husband.
One morning, Xu Lecheng woke up and looked at Fu Siyan’s exceptionally handsome face. Licking his lips, he joked, “Husband, how about a kiss?”
Only after Fu Siyan pinned him to the bed and kissed him until his legs went weak did Xu Lecheng realize, a little belatedly: Was his husband in this marriage of convenience taking his duties a bit too seriously?
*
When an elder suddenly sprang an engagement on him, Fu Siyan agreed to a marriage of convenience with Xu Lecheng.
He had to get married either way, and Xu Lecheng was so good-looking.
But as time passed, Fu Siyan realized something seemed off.
He really did care about Xu Lecheng. And Xu Lecheng would come close to him in the dangerous morning hours, licking his lips and asking for a kiss.
If that wasn’t love, what was?
They’d hugged and kissed, and this little heartless man still claimed they were only in a marriage of convenience?
With a faintly amused smile, Fu Siyan gripped the back of Xu Lecheng’s neck and pressed his lips close, speaking in a firm, low voice: “Chengcheng, keep mouthing off and I’ll make you cry.”
