Synopsis:
[First-person blurb, third-person main story]
They can only marvel at how different I am,
A common girl who grew up in Besuri County, never received any elite education, yet went on to wear a Harvard graduation cap and give a speech as the first outstanding female graduate in the university's history.
They can only be astonished by how one of a kind I am,
A powerless, insignificant girl from a small town, who never enjoyed the advantages society grants to her gender, yet went alone into a "man's domain," took her seat in the Dongfang-6 launch capsule, and became the world's first female astronaut to gaze upon the brilliant galaxy.
What they don't know is that my heart is rotten and decayed, stinking to high heaven, with the most unconventional ambitions and soul.
I have loyal, reliable friends who fight at my side; a proud, arrogant suitor who bows humbly before me alone; and a lover as beautiful as a Greek god, whom I can leave at any time.
Most important of all, I have my surname and my sex.
My mother, my girlfriends, and all those faint, voiceless souls I've seen.
I only want to escape their fate. I only want to change their fate.
I know I'm not really as different as they say, because I know that after me, countless women like them will rise, and surpass me.
Buried between light and shadow, I am not the only "her." I
am one among countless women.
Risking everything, burning every bridge, staking it all, refusing to compromise.
This is the path I chose for myself.
Content warnings:
1. An alternate World War II history. A female protagonist's coming-of-age story. At heart, the heroine is a hypocritical Mary Sue.
2. The heroine is all about herself. Betting on any male lead is a losing proposition. The men will pursue her against her will and pine for her in old-school romance fashion, but none of them will get her in the end.
3. Handsome men and beautiful women will have one-sided crushes on the heroine, who will probably also develop a knack for being a "romance scammer."
4. Don't look for profound, lofty themes in a wish-fulfillment story. I'm not worthy of that.
5. The blurb was inspired by the introduction to Educated.

P.S. A tribute to My Brilliant Friend and Educated. The former is the source of my indignation, while the latter showed me the tremendous power education has to shape people.
Theme: The future is bright. Every girl has limitless potential.
