My Imperial Sister Was Born to Be Empress

Who doesn't dream of a historical romance? (sniffles) Pei Nian, the late empress's daughter and the seventh princess, lived a life of privilege and favor. But after her mother's family fell from power, she was abandoned by the emperor, seized by the crown prince, and took her own life rather than submit. After her death, she was cursed by the people, blamed for bringing chaos to the imperial family, and forbidden from being buried in the imperial mausoleum. Her spirit was left to wander alone. Only when her sickly second imperial brother, Pei Chengze, whom she'd once bullied, ascended the throne and built her a new tomb was she finally able to rest in peace. When Pei Nian opens her eyes again, she has returned to her childhood. Using her status as the favored princess, she protects Pei Chengze, keeps her distance from the crown prince, and helps her mother's family. This time, everything goes her way, just as she wished. * In the princess's bedchamber, the young woman lounges on her couch, looking through a list of potential husbands. "Brother, find me a consort." Pei Chengze holds a book, his eyes still lowered. "All right. Whatever you want." Pei Nian smiles with satisfaction. "What do you think of the Heir of Qingping Marquis?" "Too old." "The young prince of Beiling?" "Too cunning." "The young general from the south?" "A brute. He wouldn't know how to treat you right." Pei Nian angrily hurls the list at the man. "Pei Chengze! Do you even want me to get married?" The new emperor, who has killed his father and brothers with his own hands, catches the list and only smiles. * Pei Chengze has never believed in fate, let alone prophecies. When he hears that a master at Yunshan Temple has foretold that the seventh princess, Pei Nian, was born with the destiny of a phoenix, he doesn't take it seriously. It takes Pei Chengze a long time to understand the prophecy's true meaning. Pei Nian was born with the destiny of a phoenix because she was destined to be his empress. *They are not related by blood. *Soft yet sharp-edged × cool and aloof gentleman Theme: Find your original purpose and change your fate.
