The S-Rank Guide I Marked Has Lost Her Memory

[I'm back, and I'll slowly fill in the rest of the story!]

Blurb: Lou Jing is the strongest S-rank sentinel in District Three, and also the most dangerous.

She rejects guidance from all guides and has spent years teetering on the brink of losing control. Her eyes are blood-red. Everyone says it's only a matter of time before she becomes a real monster.

She thinks so too.

Until a fearless woman shows up in the restricted zone.

Surrounded by monsters, Xiang Baiwei calls out from inside the protective barrier: “There's a sentinel here, so what can I do as a guide? I can't fight monsters! If an S-rank sentinel can't even protect me, then just feed me to the monsters!”

Lou Jing's attack pauses for a second. She decides to pretend she didn't hear that.

Even as Lou Jing carries her while they flee, Xiang Baiwei keeps giving orders: “Lou Jing! The monsters are so noisy. Can you mute them?”

Lou Jing looks down at this utterly brazen woman in her arms and wonders: Are you here on a mission or on vacation?

Then the test results come in:

A 100% match.

Xiang Baiwei slaps the report against her chest and smiles, her eyes curving: “I knew you wouldn't be an exception.”

Lou Jing clutches the paper as the name mark on her back, long forgotten, begins to burn faintly.

At last, she remembers:

The little guide in the laboratory who clung tightly to her hand and said, “I'll protect you,” was still alive.

That little guide was Xiang Baiwei.

But she had forgotten.

The apocalypse prophecy arrives, and everyone says:

Lou Jing, the red-eyed one, is the calamity that will open the wormhole.

Xiang Baiwei steps in front of her.

“Lou Jing,” she says, “you are not a calamity.”

“You are my sentinel.”
