The General Was Once a Delicate Lady

Rong Yayan, daughter of the General Who Guards the West, is sweet-faced and beautiful, yet she's a wild girl who loves to spar with blades and spears.

By the time she came of age, the young gentlemen of the capital were all too intimidated to approach her, until the Duke's household came to arrange a marriage with her.

Everyone laughed, saying that Zheng Hongshen, the sickly young master of the Duke's household, could never handle a woman like that. Getting near her would be as good as asking for death.

But no one expected that after Zheng Hongshen became engaged to Rong Yayan, the sickly young master of the Duke's household would actually start to recover.

At a spring banquet, the little lady in red, vivid as fire, walked beside the young man in white. She seemed more charming and less wild than before.

With the wedding date drawing near, Rong Yayan grew especially demanding. After one night of spring passion, Zheng Hongshen wanted to bring her into his household as soon as possible.

But when he awoke the next morning, Rong Yayan had left behind nothing but a letter breaking off the engagement. She was nowhere to be found!

Zheng Hongshen chased her to the city gate tower, where all he saw was Rong Yayan leading the Rong family army toward the western frontier...

Standing atop the city wall, Zheng Hongshen's expression was unreadable as he turned his folding fan in his hand. She thought she could have her fill and then run away? There was no such bargain in this world.
