Planes are invading, the Zerg are launching surprise attacks, and people from other worlds possess extraordinary abilities. How will Earth change?
Spiritual qi revival has begun, and the age of the extraordinary is dawning. When Xia Zhi acquires a farm System, what path will she take in this new age?
Find out in the story.
Only the first chapter is written in first person. The rest are in third person. (Quite a few people have brought this up. I actually marked it in the chapter introduction, but I guess it wasn't noticeable enough. Facepalm. A sweet reader reminded me, so I'm adding another note here.)
Let me recommend my new story: a survival game with cards, inspired by the Classic of Mountains and Seas. It has a female protagonist and no romance. The setting is an alternate modern future. If you're interested, please come take a look.
A few words as the story ends:
The story is about to end, and I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all the friends who have supported me all this time. Thank you so, so much. Your support has made my perseverance meaningful, and that means a great deal to me.
I've always felt that choosing a novel is a bit like making a friend or falling in love. Some stories somehow strike a chord with you, while others, no matter how hard they try, can never reach your heart, even if they're chasing after your car and desperately yelling, "Yan Zi!" I suppose that's fate, too.
My family actually doesn't support my writing, and there are plenty of things they don't understand. One relative said I'm already getting on in years and still messing around with these fanciful things instead of keeping my feet on the ground (those were their exact words). Some of my family also think I spend too much time on it and that it's simply not worth it.
For me, writing novels really is a hobby that makes me happy and gives me a sense of fulfillment. I tried writing a novel back in high school, and I can still vaguely remember the plot. Unfortunately, life got in the way, and I couldn't stick with the hobby. Now I'm an adult who's exhausted in both body and mind, with plenty of troubles in life. Reading novels became a harbor where I could shelter from the storm, but I never picked up my pen again.
Then last year, I remembered the encouragement of a good friend. She told me I didn't have to follow the rules, and that if I wanted to write, I should write. That's why I took up the hobby again.
I also want to sincerely thank that friend. In the story, the heroine once said that you should be friends with someone who thinks you're wonderful and outstanding no matter how they look at you. Through the heroine, I was really expressing how I feel about this friend. For an adult who's down on their luck, a friend who doesn't hold back on their praise is a rare thing.
Is writing novels worth it? If I judge only by the time I've put in and the money I've earned, it isn't. But emotionally, it is. It absolutely is.
From what I've said above, you might picture an adult who's been ground down by life and is completely drained. That's true. But through novels, I can imagine a world different from the one I live in, tell a story, and share it with readers who enjoy stories. This isn't an exaggeration: I feel younger when I'm writing.
Who doesn't want to become a big-name author, go viral overnight, and make a fortune? I do, too. I'm only human, after all, and it's normal to have worldly desires. But expecting too much from things beyond my abilities will only make me miserable. I'm well aware of my own level. I can't make everyone like my stories, and, to be honest, my storytelling skills are only so-so. If someone doesn't like my work, I can't really blame them. I'm simply not good enough.
So I'll just do what I can, within my abilities. Some friends might say my writing is too slow-paced, or that the story's rhythm is a mess, and so on. All I can say is sorry. This is the level I'm capable of. And for me, the ideas matter more than the prose. When I think of something, I have to write it down right away, or I'll lose the idea as soon as I turn around.
I can't write according to other people's ideas and preferences, either, because writing is an extremely subjective thing. I've abandoned a few stories before. Back then, my life was unstable, and I was young. Looking back, they're practically a dark chapter in my history. So now I only ask myself to tell a complete story, without phoning it in or ending it badly, and to do my best. That's enough.
As for everything else, I'll leave it to fate.
This novel is about to end, and I suddenly felt inspired today, so I wanted to write a few words as the story ends. That's why I've gone on for so long.
This story isn't perfect. Even I would call it just so-so. I spent too much time describing the farm in the early chapters, which made them drag. Then I introduced too many settings in the middle, and forgot some of them after writing them. Later, because there were so many settings established earlier, I struggled to steer the plot back into line. There are plenty of problems, but I really did my best.
I hope readers who find this story enjoy it. If the plot has upset you or left you dissatisfied, I'm sorry. Please feel free to drop it. The story is ending, its style is set, and its plot is set. It isn't worth getting angry over. Perhaps we'll have another chance to meet again when I start a new story.
Finally, thank you to all the sweet readers who've supported me all this time. Thank you for putting up with and appreciating my terrible writing. The author gives a story its form, and the readers give it meaning. Your reading has made this story's existence meaningful, and given me the motivation to keep going.
Thank you so much.
Theme: Ordinary people living their lives with care
After reading the first, second and last two chapters, I have to take my time in writing. The other two are: one blank line for each paragraph, and the number of words in each paragraph can be as small as possible, and divided into more paragraphs! More segments! More segments! If the protagonist and supporting characters need to speak, the volume should be shorter, or if it cannot be shorter, just break it into segments! Segmentation! Segmentation! If you're not used to it, just break it into sections after you've finished writing! In this way, at least some readers will be willing to read a few more chapters, and a large section of the article will be blurred on the reader's face. Readers who can read it are very patient, but there are very few such readers. To be honest, when I opened this article and saw the page without paragraphs and blank lines, I really wanted to quit directly. Dear author, paragraphs and blank lines are very important. Remember to score points for the next book. The worse the writing is, the more paragraphs should be divided into blank lines. If the writing is not super good, don't challenge your original writing method, it will make it more difficult for readers to read!
I haven't read much novels this year. I logged in on a whim these two days. When I clicked on it, I saw "Epilogue, Lin Xiaoyu leaves first…". I didn't even make up for the previous content and just bought this chapter. After reading it, I suddenly felt melancholy. No matter how grand the fireworks were at the beginning, they would eventually turn into lonely sparks, without even a trace of light and heat. The people and things you encounter while growing up are eventually lost in the long river of life, leaving you alone to move forward. Congratulations on starting again during the summer solstice, making many good marriages, and being safe and smooth!
I've been following it for a long time, and I started watching it from the beginning a few days after it finished. I finished it, and I really like it!
Hahahaha, look, look, what were you talking about about a thousand-year bonus?
Finished with flowers ~ I really like this kind of story with a real female protagonist. There is no male protagonist to steal the spotlight from the female protagonist.
Great writing! I like this article very much! Although I couldn't read the reincarnation part for a while and suddenly I didn't want to read it anymore, but then I could read it again... It's hard to imagine that this is Dada's first article, and it's such a long one~ And I really admire that Dada can pick up his teenage dreams and start over after being beaten by society as an adult!! It feels like it's getting better little by little just like the summer solstice! Finally, thank you for bringing me a very magical experience ~ I will continue to pay attention to new articles ~
The writing is very good. Good luck to the author. I look forward to the follow-up.
Finished chasing ~ Spreading Flowers, I love this kind of long novels, please come on, just write the story you want and gain happiness and satisfaction~
The chase is over! It's incredible that such a long novel only has more than 2,000 collections... I really like the author's imagination, what's the next one?
