The first thing you do after making it is dump the person you love.
Mo Li was the one who got dumped.
After failing her graduate school entrance exams, she was broken up with by He Han, her boyfriend of three years. She sat slumped over in the security booth with her suitcase beside her, while the security guard awkwardly tried to comfort her.
"Hey, don't cry. Someone as pretty as you is sure to find someone better. Look at this car, isn't it gorgeous? Tsk, I've worked here for more than ten years and never seen one like it."
Mo Li wiped her tears. "Thank you, Uncle. My family is here to pick me up." Then, under the security guard's stunned gaze, she got into the grayish-pink Bugatti.
Fu Zhi, the Fu family's second son, had hated the youngest daughter of the Mo family ever since they were children. She walked with her head bobbing from side to side, and when she ate candy, she blew bubbles with her mouth.
Everyone told him he had to indulge her, but he refused.
Perhaps it was just the passage of time. The more he looked at her, the more Fu Zhi began to see something adorable and captivating in her face.
Later, Mo Li fell in love. Later, Mo Li graduated. Later, Mo Li cried buckets of tears and snot in his car. His heart gave a painful twitch with every sob, but he pretended to be annoyed and covered her face with a handkerchief.
Mo Li's voice was hoarse as she complained, "I'm already in this state. Can't you just let me have my way for once?"
He Han pretended to be concerned and asked Mo Li whether she planned to retake the exams or look for a job.
Mo Li stretched lazily. "My dad said I should help out at a friend's place for now. I'll decide what to do after I've had time to think."
He Han offered a few words of comfort, thinking it was probably some fruit shop or corner store.
That was until a month later, when he ran into Mo Li at his internship company, riding the elevator straight up to the CEO's office.
