Synopsis
An award-winning actor was livestreaming to promote his new movie when a young man suddenly appeared out of thin air and fell right into his arms. The actor quickly shut off his computer.
"What happened?! Which ghost did this to you?!" he asked, worriedly looking at the young man in his arms.
The young man was in a sorry state. Half of his Taoist robe was ruined, and the golden dragon horns on his head were now pitch-black. Looking awkward, he said, "Ahem, it wasn't a ghost. I wanted to make you a birthday cake, but I drew the wrong talisman and blew up the kitchen. Then I panicked and drew the wrong teleportation talisman, so I ended up here."
"Are you hurt?" the actor asked, checking him for injuries.
Only then did the young man realize what position he was in. His heart immediately started racing. Fortunately, his face was blackened with soot, hiding his flushed cheeks. He nimbly jumped out of the actor's arms and shook his head. "I'm not hurt! Don't worry!"
Seeing how easily the young man moved, the actor finally relaxed. Taking another look at his appearance, he couldn't help laughing.
"Hey! I went to all that trouble to make you a cake, and you're laughing at me?" the young man complained. He grabbed the actor's coat and draped it over his tattered clothes, then started drawing a talisman to leave.
The actor hurriedly caught hold of him. "I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing because I'm happy." He straightened his expression, then added, "Thank you. I'm looking forward to your cake. How did you know it was my birthday?"
Young man: "I saw your ID card that day. You were born on *year*/*month*/*day*, so tomorrow is your twenty-sixth birthday."
The actor raised an eyebrow, thinking, The date is right, but the year isn't. If we're talking about my real age, you'd have to add another thousand or so years.
The young man didn't notice the amusement in the actor's eyes. In a hurry to leave, he said, "I need to clean up the kitchen! If my master comes back, he'll scold me to death!" After saying that, he hurriedly drew a talisman in the air and vanished without a trace.
Not long after the young man left, a translucent figure appeared beside the actor. "Underworld Lord, I have a tricky matter to report. The scene of Daoist Ling (the young man) falling into your arms just now is trending. Should I send some ghosts to take care of it?"
The actor pinched the bridge of his nose. "Information sure travels fast in the internet age."
The shadow silently grumbled: That's because you're too famous...
Shadow: "Then I'll send ghosts to deal with--"
"No need," said the actor. "It's a rare chance to show off our relationship. I should make the most of it~"
The young man is named Ling Du. In his previous life, he was the actor's senior fellow disciple, and his true form is a little golden dragon.
The actor's real name is Zhao Shiyuan. He goes by Zhao Shiyuan, cultivates the Undying Path, and is neither human nor ghost. His main job is being a big shot in the Underworld, and his side job is acting.
