Yoko Mitsuru is an ordinary 16-year-old girl. She looks ordinary and has a gentle personality. If there is one thing that sets her apart, it is probably... she's already dead.
Dead, but not entirely.
One day, she suddenly woke up to find herself possessing the body of her childhood neighbor, Toge Inumaki. He had no idea she was there, so Mitsuru happily followed Inumaki around and lived with him, feeling quite content that she'd gotten a second chance at life for free.
That was until the day Inumaki took her to meet one of his classmates: a tall, black-haired man who seemed to have a girl clinging to his back, too.
The girl glanced over at her, and the man called Yuta Okkotsu looked over as well.
Mitsuru, completely oblivious, greeted them cheerfully. The next second, Yuta spoke, addressing Inumaki: "Inumaki, there's a cursed spirit on your back."
Inumaki and Mitsuru both froze. Unlike Inumaki, who was visibly rattled, Mitsuru was simply baffled and confused.
Well, would you look at that. I've become a cursed spirit?
