Matsuzaka Chikuri is an ordinary shut-in, or NEET for short.
Then one day, a strange full-dive game suddenly appears in her home.
The game offers a great deal of freedom, and has only one ultimate goal: build an organization of your own, whatever kind you like.
She decides to create a healing organization full of cute things, with a cafe as its main business.
Loving games as much as life itself, she immediately logs in to play. But she can’t view the characters’ detailed profiles, so Chikuri has to judge their personalities by their beautiful illustrations.
Character One:
[A blonde girl with doll-like features wears a tiny military uniform and boots. Her big, vivid blue eyes are impossibly cute, and the gun beside her, taller than she is, makes her look even smaller.]
Chikuri sighs in sorrow: This poor child must have been forced into the military by a brutal war!
But when she gets caught up in a gang shootout, the blonde girl with blue eyes, in her secret identity, calmly sets down her shopping bag, pulls out a gun from thin air, and shoots with perfect accuracy. Every member of the gang is wiped out in an instant.
She hears a young, icy voice come from her own mouth: “Tch. You’re worse than recruits.”
Chikuri: “...”
Character Two:
[A boy with orange-red hair braided over one shoulder and hanging down to his chest, a pretty doll-like face, a cute smile, and a cowlick.]
After failing to draw her first character, she decides to try for an adorable boy this time.
But the moment she puts on her new secret identity, she sees her deep blue eyes widen with excitement in the shards of glass suddenly scattering through the air.
The next second, in despair and utterly unable to control herself, she launches into a one-sided brawl with a group of muscular brutes in the cozy, adorable cafe she set up.
Then, under the terrified stares of passersby, she licks the blood splashed across her pale cheek.
Character Three:
[A pretty high school girl with shoulder-length dark brown hair.]
After learning her lesson from the first two failures, she decides to avoid characters with flashy looks. At last, she chooses an ordinary high school girl who’s only a little pretty.
She thinks this time everything will go smoothly, but on the nights when a “World Enemy” appears, her secret identity develops a second personality. It puts on a strange black cloak and tall hat, calls itself [Boogiepop], and secretly eliminates every creature and disaster threatening the balance of the world.
Character Four:
[Messy blond hair, black-rimmed glasses, and the harmless look of a student.]
Later, after she clears the game, Matsuzaka Chikuri looks at the ending CG, which has absolutely nothing to do with “healing” or “cute things.”
...I’m really going to need a moment :)
Theme: Stay true to yourself and break free from your cage.
