On the day of her engagement, Zhao Zhaozhao discovered that her fiance was cheating. She left in the pouring rain and ran into her childhood friend Mu Mu, whom she had not seen in years.
He was soaked through, his lashes trembling and his voice shaking, yet he asked with firm resolve, one word at a time: "Zhaozhao, will you marry me?"
The next second, disaster struck. Mu Mu saved her, then fell into a deep, unending sleep.
.
Mu Mu came from a wealthy family, but was paralyzed from the waist down. With his gloomy, unlikeable personality, he had few friends. Only in front of Zhaozhao did he occasionally smile.
When he died unexpectedly, no one cared. His family even breathed a sigh of relief at having one less rival in the battle over the family fortune.
.
After being reborn, Zhao Zhaozhao slapped her cheating fiance hard, then walked without hesitation to the familiar wheelchair.
Seeing the person she had missed so desperately right before her, her eyes grew warm and she threw herself into Mu Mu's arms, putting on a fierce little act as she said:
"Marry me. Now, right this minute."
The young man: ?
"If you don't marry me, I'll cry."
The young man: ...
"You really won't marry me? Then I'll cry, okay? Can you bear to see that?"
The young man lowered his eyes and finally murmured, "I can't bear it."
.
Mu Mu had no idea what had gotten into Zhaozhao. She was always pestering him to marry her. He assumed she was heartbroken and treated her with impeccable propriety after bringing her home as his wife.
Who knew that after they married, Zhaozhao would spend all day fluttering around him? One moment, she would ask him to dry her hair; the next, she would ask him to pull down the zipper of her dress. Or she would rub her nose against his face in bed and coo:
"Mumu, I can't sleep."
At last, he could not take it anymore. He pinned her beneath him and warned coldly, "Keep moving and I'll tie you up."
Zhaozhao blushed and obediently held out her hands. "You can."
"Mumu can do whatever he wants to me."
