New Hope Corporation and the Esper Alliance jointly issued an obituary: Professor Yin Zhixi, the "Light of Humanity," had died suddenly of an illness. Professor Yin was thirty-five. Though an ordinary human, she had developed Beast-Repellent Powder and Bad Luck Remover, bringing hope of survival to humanity in the apocalypse...
The obituary plunged all of humanity into mourning, and Yin Zhixi was raised to the status of a living saint.
Just after Professor Yin's death, people were interviewed.
Leng Zhou, CEO of New Hope Corporation, Professor Yin's childhood sweetheart, and the one who ordered her death: "Losing Professor Yin is undoubtedly the greatest loss to human society. Let us forever remember her immense contributions to humanity."
Tang Tang, Professor Yin's apprentice and the one who personally shot her dead: "Master, rest in peace. I will fulfill your dying wish for you."
Mu Haitian, leader of the Esper Alliance and a co-conspirator in Professor Yin's murder: "That meddlesome woman! I won't let her live long enough to be raised to sainthood!"
Lin Lang, the New Hope enforcement team's Black Cat and Professor Yin's devoted admirer: "I'll kill all three of them and avenge Professor Yin!"
Wei Chenze, a shopkeeper selling Beast-Repellent Powder on the outskirts of New City's human settlements: "Oh, Professor Yin's dead? Then it's time for our Sunrise to set sail!"
Yin Zhixi herself, who faked her death: "Good riddance! Being a god on an altar is no easy job. Let someone else do it!"
Two years after Professor Yin's death, New Hope Corporation and the Esper Alliance merged, announcing the founding of humanity's only alliance, the Tianyuan Alliance. But its new leaders had no idea that, in a remote corner of the world, an old human alliance was expanding at an astonishing pace.
Once again, people were interviewed.
Leng Zhou, leader of the Tianyuan Alliance: "I regret it. I'll build the new alliance according to your wishes. So, can you come back to life?"
Tang Tang, Minister of Education for the Tianyuan Alliance: "Oh, when can I finally ditch this whole mess and go join Master?"

Lin Lang, Minister of Combat and Minister of Justice for the Tianyuan Alliance, and the man who belongs to a certain professor: "Professor, woof! Woof! Woof! (I! Love! You!)"
Wei Chenze, head of Sunrise Base and leader of the old human alliance: "Professor Yin? Didn't Professor Yin die ages ago? We only have Professor Wei Zhaoyang here. There's no Professor Yin!"
Yin Zhixi herself: "My goal is to restore social order, have the new and old humans live together in peace, and retire in peace to enjoy my life and my man. Yes, that's right. I'll achieve that goal any day now."
Reader's guide:
1. This is an ensemble story. Due to the plot, the heroine is sometimes absent, and the story moves forward through other characters' perspectives, so strictly speaking, it uses multiple points of view.
