Blurb One:
One day, a golden scroll suddenly appeared, floating above the Main System Hall. It bore just a few short words:
[Kindness is the ladder of human progress]
From that day on, everyone knew how to escape this nightmare: be a good person, and have everyone embrace goodness.
Everyone was left with question marks all over their faces: ???
In this abyssal nightmare, where death could strike at any moment, kind people were always the first to be hurt. To survive, they had long since stopped trusting others, and their hands were already stained with blood.
No one knew how good and evil were judged. The word "kindness" hung above their heads like a naked taunt. No one knew whether this path had an end, or whether they would ever get to leave.
This world was born from the evil in people's hearts. Amid endless darkness and terror, a faint glimmer of hope remained.
In a place that devoured humanity, they prayed that everyone would choose goodness.
Blurb Two:
"I loathe humanity most of all." Ling Yan lowered his eyes, hiding the scorn in them. He had come to this hellish place to coldly watch humanity destroy itself, as if it were a joke. Yet on the very day he arrived, people respectfully addressed him as the "Savior."
Ling Yan found it laughable. People had always treated him as a demon who could see through the evil in their hearts.
Later, he met someone else, someone like his mirror image: identical in appearance, opposite in temperament. That person possessed every virtue a savior should have: chastity, restraint, tolerance, gentleness, generosity...
Like a divine angel high above the clouds, or a merciful Buddha who saved all living beings.
Ling Yan couldn't believe that a person without selfish desires could exist in this world. They both wanted to tame the other and make them submit, so they made an agreement and placed a bet.
One day, the man who had always seemed so gentle and composed darkened his eyes for the first time, blazing with mad possessiveness. He pinned Ling Yan hard against the wall and murmured breathlessly, "I lost."
Only then did Ling Yan realize that the other man had conceded, but he had lost himself in the bargain.
The first time they met, his eyes were peaceful and accepting. He said, "You are my desire."
The Xth time they met, his eyes were mad with possessiveness. He said, "You are my desire."
"Only after meeting you did I learn what longing and desire are."
"I went toward the light, and the light swallowed me."
