The General Was Betrothed to a Sickly Beauty

(Revising chapter by chapter. I suddenly wanted to write a modern version too, so I’ve started a new story: The Sickly Prince Consort Moves In. Please add it to your library. Revisions here are still ongoing.)

Yue Rannuo commands the largest military force in the Duan Kingdom and is stationed in the southern frontier. Several princes covet the troops under her command and compete to marry her.

The entire Tu Feng Army objects to their general getting married and declares that she’ll never marry out, unless a prince marries into her family!

They thought that would be the end of it, but an imperial edict arrives: the seventh prince, Shen Ning, is to marry into the general’s household on an auspicious date!

The seventh prince of Duan, Shen Ning, has suffered from a heart condition since childhood, earning everyone’s sympathy. Handsome and refined, he’s the very picture of the sickly beauty in a romance novel.

Yue Rannuo refuses. She has no intention of marrying that invalid.

But the moment her red bridal veil is lifted, she excitedly pounces on him, nearly knocking the frail young prince flat!

The Duan Kingdom’s court grows increasingly corrupt. Its ministers are skilled at power games but care nothing for the country. The seventh prince, Shen Ning, wants to change things, but is powerless to do so.

He has been bedridden for years and has no influence at court. And because he must stay alive long enough to uncover who killed his birth mother more than a decade ago, he has to keep playing weak.

At last, he gets his chance, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: to marry into the family of Yue Rannuo, commander of the Tu Feng Army.

Theme: No matter how much mud a person has to wade through, someone will always want to create something beautiful.
