The years-long war between Xiguo and Jin ended in a great victory. Just as Jin Li thought she could leave without a trace and hide her achievements, Zong Yao suddenly came to her with a mysterious air.

"A Li, to be honest, you're the junior fellow apprentice my father has been searching for for over a decade. Father ordered me to bring you back to meet him."

What? She was the junior fellow apprentice of the current Emperor of Xiguo? How had she not known?

But since His Majesty the Emperor had already offered her his golden thigh to cling to, could she refuse?

And so, Jin Li was somehow whisked back to the imperial capital by a prince with ulterior motives.

Jin Li's eyes lit up at once. "Oh my, how embarrassing! But since you, my imperial senior brother, are offering it so generously, I won't refuse!"

The chief eunuch eagerly opened the imperial decree he had prepared and joyfully read it aloud to everyone: "By decree of the Benevolent and Sagacious Emperor: Jin Li, Eldest Princess Shanning, is virtuous and talented, graceful and accomplished, peerlessly gifted and beautiful, and naturally wise. She is hereby betrothed to Prince Zhan, Zong Yao, as his principal wife. So decreed!"

Jin Li: "???"
