Through Mist and Rain Beneath the Nine Heavens

“Hey, I don’t like the look of you.” The little boy stared at him with an arrogant expression. “I don’t like the look of you either,” he snorted. “Since we can’t stand each other, let’s settle this with our fists like men.” “You, a little bean sprout? Hahaha, ow! Why did you hit me without warning?” “Men don’t settle everything with their fists.” “You brat! I’ll beat you to death!” That was how their story began. They had no fond childhood memories together, and they weren’t childhood sweethearts. They had a terrible impression of each other. Back then, neither of them could have imagined that, many years later, what would remain in their hearts would be that punch straight to the face, or the gentle embrace that came afterward. “Don’t listen to the rain beating through the trees. Why not stroll along, singing as you please? With a bamboo staff and straw sandals, I walk more lightly than a horse. Who’s afraid? I’ll spend my life in rain and wind, wearing a cloak of straw.” “Yun Qing, you...” “Chang Tian, perhaps we should try a different kind of relationship.” This is a lighthearted story. Huasheng wants to write a simple love story in a relaxed mood. It won’t be long, and there’ll be no national vendettas, family feuds, or life-and-death pacts. It’s simply about two people living happily, and I hope it can heal the poor hearts of readers exhausted by angsty stories. Also, the characters are destined to switch roles, so be warned if that’s a dealbreaker for you.
