Drowning Rose

Fu Wenzhi came toward her, backlit, holding an umbrella.

In that instant,

the world faded into darkness. Like a god, he brought warmth and shattered her darkness.

"Don't be afraid. I'm here."

He was as gentle as water, and she was at the center of it all.

When Mai Tang first met Shen Shu, he was exactly as his name suggested: pure, aloof, and out of reach.

She never expected that when she was at her wit's end, he would be like bright moonlight, illuminating the scene beside her and giving her all the tenderness and dignity she deserved.

For her sake, Shen Shu was whipped by his father, confined to his home, and scorned by everyone in the Shen family.

In the pouring rain, Mai Tang held the battered Shen Shu and wept, apologizing. "You shouldn't have to go through this for me."

Shen Shu smiled and wiped away her tears. "I couldn't be happier to."

But Mai Tang had no idea that the net Shen Shu had woven for her was quietly drawing tight.

-

To win Mai Tang, Shen Shu plotted painstakingly, even when it left him torn and bleeding.

He would even give up half his life.

All he wanted was her.

Is that pathetic?

He paid half his life for her.
