Palace Delights

The late emperor dies, and the Chen Dynasty falls into chaos.

All power at court falls into the hands of the treacherous minister Li Wei. The empress dowager is young, her maternal family is weak, and the crown prince is too young to shoulder the burden. Everyone at court whispers that Li Wei is about to usurp the throne.

After nightfall, Li Wei enters Shoukang Palace and makes his plea to the empress dowager. "I am willing to protect His Highness the Crown Prince."

Chu Jiang's radiant, alluring face is pale as she parts her vermilion lips. "What do you want in return?"

Li Wei tilts his head back. His clear eyes are filled with madness, and his voice is hoarse. "You."

From then on, not a single night in Shoukang Palace passes in peace.

By day, Chu Jiang wears her phoenix robes, the supreme empress dowager worshipped by all the people under heaven. By night, she can only lie quietly in that man's arms.

Or perhaps this was the fate she sealed the moment she decided to enter the palace.

The man's long fingers caress her cheek, his eyes intoxicated. "A Jiang, you're finally mine."
