Arranged Marriages in the Sixties

Blurb: Shen Ying is beautiful and well-educated, but her family is considered capitalist. Now in her late twenties and still unmarried, she is taken pity on by her aunt, who arranges a job for her at the base hospital. The base is home to five thousand bachelor soldiers, so the moment Shen Ying arrives, she's the most sought-after woman around.

When Zhong Liguo returns from visiting his family back home, his organization arranges a blind date for him with Shen Ying.

They nearly come to blows at their very first meeting.

Zhong Liguo: Shen Ying, that character in your name is reactionary! How can a proper Chinese person have a name like that?

Shen Ying: I heard you caused the deaths of your three former fiancées. How dare you go on blind dates? Are you trying to get me killed too?

Six months later, the organization investigates Shen Ying's class background and plans to send her to a poor mountain village.

Zhong Liguo: Who dares lay a hand on her? She's my woman. You think you can touch her?
