Madam's Name Is Li Yi'an

Zong Gu was clever, but had a rebellious streak and a rather irreverent attitude toward life. Born into a family of military officers, he nevertheless chose the path of a civil official. Before he even came of age, his literary talent had made him famous throughout Bianjing. He wrote bold, lively poetry with a touch of charm, and wherever he went, he was greeted with flowers, applause, and admiring glances from young women. Such a gallant young man had one weakness that left people speechless with laughter: he always lost at gambling. A game called Da Ma was all the rage at the time, and if the young men of Bianjing were to rank the opponents they most wanted to face, Zong Gu would surely top the list. When he was twenty, the young scion of a military family who always lost at gambling met the daughter of a grand academician, who seemed to have the God of Gambling on her side... What sparks will fly when a bold, perceptive man falls for a gentle yet strong-willed woman? When the Jingkang Incident strikes and the land is torn apart by invading forces, where will the young man and woman, once so dashing and carefree, go from here, as the children of a military family? 1.
