To My Dearest Volleyball Boy [Haikyuu!!]

One month into the school year, Shiratorizawa, Miyagi Prefecture's century-old prestigious school, welcomes a boy who has dropped out of school.

Some say he was a delinquent at an American school.

Some say he was expelled after getting caught up in a school bullying incident.

Others say he beat up a two-meter-tall man who couldn't fight back.

He's really coming to study in Japan? Good grief! There'll be no peace around here!

Only the boy himself, Kinomoto Naruse, knows the truth: I fought, I skipped class, and I was asked to leave, but I'm still a good kid.

This good kid is utterly disheartened. No, he's calm as still water, and has decided to cut ties with his beloved volleyball once and for all.

But then, who is this little sun? Why are you dragging me into volleyball practice?

And who are you, old man? Why are you pulling me into the volleyball club?

In short...

This is the story of a tragic dropout (not really...) named Kinomoto Naruse, who comes from faraway America to his hometown in Japan to care for his grandparents and heal the wounds in his heart.

After joining Shiratorizawa, with the help of a taciturn old man (not really...), a bizarre senior (exactly...), and adorable classmates (definitely...), he rediscovers his love for volleyball and plays one exhilarating, regret-free match after another.
