The Demon Lord's Struggle to Survive in Heaven

The Demon Lord, rumored to have once united the demon realm, led his army straight to the Ninth Heaven, tore apart the gods, and dealt a crushing blow to the Celestial Court before being sealed by the Jade Emperor. Now he's broken free and returned to the mortal world!

The news sent the Celestial Court into a panic. Terrified that the nightmare of old would return and they'd be torn apart by the Demon Lord, one after another they handed in their resignations.

The mountain of resignation letters gave the Jade Emperor a receding hairline.

For the sake of the Jade Emperor's hair (not really), and for peace and stability in the Celestial Court, the newly appointed God of War, Xia Yu, volunteered to hunt down the Demon Lord and eliminate this menace to Heaven and Earth.

Wei Feng, a temp who had always wanted to become a civil servant in the Celestial Court and enjoy a retired life of nine-to-five work, learned that his boss, the God of War Xia Yu, was going to hunt down the Demon Lord.

The real Demon Lord, Wei Feng: Huh?

To enjoy a life of slacking off (not really), and to become a full-time employee, Wei Feng decided to put on a show for the Celestial Court: I'll kill myself.

The Celestial Court's Mortal Realm Office hastily held a meeting to discuss capturing the Demon Lord.

Wei Feng: I think with you there, Xia Yu, the Demon Lord is doomed.

Xia Yu: I'm very capable, but don't underestimate the Demon Lord. If I fight him, it could take days and nights.

Wei Feng: I think all you'd need is one night to make me, ahem, him willingly become your captive.

Xia Yu: ?

Theme: Work is glorious.
