A Misstep (Modern Matriarchy)

Free updates whenever inspiration strikes. I won't abandon it. Reader's guide A melodramatic, over-the-top story. An unpopular experiment in maximum angst. I get carried away when I write, so enter at your own risk. Seriously, be warned. [Do not insult the author or the story.] Important: The male and female leads are not related by blood in any way, and the uncle is not a homewrecker! Includes: a fake mistress's child trope, a period-pain trope, and other elements still to be decided; some angst for the male lead. There may not be a groveling arc. Includes school scenes. Character setup A bad-tempered young miss with a sharp tongue and a soft heart; a sweet, vulnerable, sensible crybaby [Blurb to trick people into reading] (not really) The first time Shen Ting saw Gu Qingyue, she hated him. She even thought he was disgusting. So spoiled, so stupid, always bursting into tears. But that wasn't the real reason. The main reason was that Gu Qingyue had broken up her family. And on top of that, he had the nerve to move into their home. He was just as disgusting as his mistress of a father. So she made things difficult for him at every turn, never gave him a kind word, and came up with all sorts of ways to bully him, make him cry, and humiliate him. But for some reason, the more she tormented him, the harder it became to go through with it. Before she knew it, she was carefully holding him in her arms, softly calling him "Yueyue" over and over. She even placed a hand on his stomach, with a hot-water bottle beside them to charge up and warm his belly during his period. She was even more at a loss than Gu Qingyue, gently soothing him again and again. "Yueyue, does it still hurt? If it's still that painful, should we go to the hospital?" Theme: As long as you remain beautiful and strong inside, warmth and flowers will come your way.
