An Unexpected Embrace

A cold-faced CEO × a gentle teacher | Parenting conflicts turn into sparks | A single dad meets a healing male preschool teacher

Yan Mo, the cold-blooded devil of the financial world, lives by only two principles:

First, profit above all; second, never let emotions cloud his judgment.

Until Cheng Yang, the new male teacher at his son's kindergarten, tears up his check in front of everyone.

“What Xiaoyu needs isn't money. He needs your time.”

Cheng Yang has seen plenty of troubled kids, but Xiaoyu's drawing makes his heart ache.

His father is always drawn in a crisp suit, while the place where his mother should be is nothing but a blurry purple smudge.

When Yan Mo rushes into the hospital on a rainy night, carrying his feverish son, his shirt soaked with sweat,

Cheng Yang finally sees just how much loneliness and pain are hidden beneath the man's hard exterior.

“Can I come in? Not just tonight... but every day.”

Yan Mo's awkward confession is muddled with rain and mud, and he holds out a burnt cake.

But when the Yan family discovers their heir has fallen in love with a man,

they pull funding from the orphanage, humiliate him in public, and force him to quit.

Clutching his resignation letter, Cheng Yang smiles bitterly. “In the end, we're from different worlds.”

Until Yan Mo throws away his billion-dollar fortune and kneels outside the dilapidated orphanage.

“Without you, my world went bankrupt long ago.”
