I Ascended After Binding Two Systems

Shen Zhuozhuo has two Systems: one wants her to become an invincible protagonist, while the other wants her to play the female supporting character in an angst novel.

On the night she first arrives in this world, a jade pendant forcibly binds itself to her. There's an old man living inside it, and without another word, he demands to take her as his disciple and pass on his life's cultivation. Otherwise, he'll make her join him in the grave along with his soon-to-be-lost secret art.

At the same time, another voice speaks inside her mind. It calls itself a System and says she is a female supporting character in a cultivation novel, doomed to love someone who will never love her back. It orders her to follow the plot and die, or get struck by lightning on the spot.

Shen Zhuozhuo, who sincerely just wants to stay alive: …

This world has finally gone completely insane.

-

Unable to fight back, Shen Zhuozhuo gives up.

…

…

What a joke. There's no way she can give up!

Shen Zhuozhuo locks the jade pendant inside a specially made magical artifact, but the old man, the invincible-protagonist grandpa, still whispers temptingly in her mind: "Cultivation techniques, opportunities, secret manuals… Whatever you want, I can give it to you!"

"…"

The angst System refuses to be outdone. A bolt of thunder shatters the little teacup in front of Shen Zhuozhuo. "Peerless beauty, figure, voice, wealth, or a dramatic groveling-at-your-feet redemption? How about I max out everything?"

Shen Zhuozhuo: It's not that I've had enough. I've had more than enough!

-

The person who will never love her back pulls off an impressive feat in a secret realm, easily subduing a level-four demon.

The angst System says, "According to the main plot, this is when you should eagerly confess your feelings, then be rejected in front of everyone and act heartbroken. That will earn you ten angst points."

The invincible-protagonist grandpa says, "What's the point of that? It's just a level-four demon, and this brat thinks he's so impressive… Zhuozhuo, take my Heaven-Slaying Sword and kill a level-seven demon to show him what you're made of!"

Shen Zhuozhuo: "…"

The person who will never love her back promises that he will marry no one but Li Anshi in this life.

The angst System says, "The classic choice-between-two-people scene. You should look shocked and heartbroken, then keep pestering him until the heroine arrives."

The invincible-protagonist grandpa says, "Let him have his moment… Today he looks down on you, but one day he'll be kneeling before you!"

Shen Zhuozhuo: "…"

Shen Zhuozhuo follows the angst-novel plot while countless resources keep raining down on her, turning her into the hardest-working cultivator in the sect.

Everyone in the cultivation sect thinks Shen Zhuozhuo has gone mad from loving Daoist Qingheng without being loved in return, and has channeled that heartbreak into hard work.

Later, wherever she goes, all kinds of opportunities flock to Shen Zhuozhuo. She rises to the top of the sect's fastest-advancing cultivators list and stays there, becoming the youngest mighty cultivator to reach the Deity Transformation realm. Wherever she goes, she's surrounded by a throng of devoted fans.

Some people even see this:

In the thick of night, Daoist Qingheng, as untouchable as snow atop a mountain, is turned away from Fairy Shen's door time and again…

A feel-good power fantasy. The more satisfying, the better, with an outrageously powerful golden finger.

Theme: Those who never forget will surely be answered.
