In the twenty-first year of the Xia Dynasty, strange omens appeared in the heavens. The Imperial Observatory was ordered to watch the stars that night. The Nine Stars aligned, the Greedy Wolf appeared; the moon was darkened by clouds, and the Emperor Star vanished. The appearance of a baleful star was an ill omen. The emperor flew into a rage. Just then, one of his consorts went into labor, and he secretly had her dealt with. The matter was settled.
Twenty years later, Lin Mo transmigrated into this world. After nearly ten years as a criminal investigator, she really couldn't get used to living as a wealthy young lady. So one dark, windy night a year later, Lin Mo put on a night suit, left a letter for her cheap excuse for a father, and slipped away.
She had planned to live a comfortable life of wealth and ease, carefree as a wandering cloud or a wild crane. Instead, she came across a rather handsome invalid along the way.
"Brother Lin, why are you walking so fast?"
"I have long legs."
"As far as I can tell, my legs aren't short either. Why can't I catch up with you? You must be walking too fast."
"..."
"Brother Lin, walking so fast isn't good for you."
"Brother Lin, why are you ignoring me?"
"Brother Lin, wait for me."
"Brother Lin..."
Lin Mo stopped and turned to look at him. Dressed in flowing white, he was like a gentle breeze beneath a bright moon. One look, and she was smitten for a lifetime... Beneath a glittering age, ravines ran deep. Hand in hand, they watched the mountains and rivers remain unchanged, while the realm itself was no less captivating.
