Ying Yi first saw Yao on the sacrificial altar at Mount Li.
In plain white robes, her skin like snow, she looked like an exquisite, fragile porcelain figurine. A glimpse of her smooth, pale wrist showed before she offered two bowls of sacrificial blood, fainted, and was carried away by her maid.
The goddess belonged to Heaven, and was ultimately destined to be sacrificed to it. Yet he desired her. He wanted to possess her.
Ying Yi had never believed in Heaven. He would take whatever he wanted, with no regard for taboos.
In the deep of night, on the towering sacrificial altar, he saw her as a flawless pearl wrapped in silks and brocades. He bent over her, his breath falling against her neck. "The goddess chosen by Heaven belongs to me right in front of it, yet it does nothing. Heaven is nothing special after all."
Xi Yao's eyes reddened. She grabbed his hand, unable to utter a single word.
Yao had been a goddess since childhood. Those who communed with the gods could not speak to ordinary people, and she had been unable to speak for as long as she could remember.
When she turned sixteen, she was to be offered to Heaven to ensure good harvests and peace for all under heaven for generations to come. Until then, she had to remain a virgin.
But a young man who showed no reverence for the gods ruined everything. He was the crown prince she had chosen by obeying Heaven's decree.
He defied Heaven's will, took the goddess by force, killed Wu Xian, and drove his sword through his father's head. Xi Yao was terrified.
On the day of the enthronement sacrifice, he lifted her into his arms and carried her up to the altar. Standing before the offering table, he raised her high. "Goddess Xi Yao, I offer you to Emperor Yi. From now on, you belong to me."
#A few notes#

--- Pre-release novel: Witch Maiden. Stop by and take a look~
Yu Shu is a madwoman. She often sits in front of a palace hall in the cold palace, holding a rag doll and calling to it: "Xiao Jin, Xiao Jin."
The palace servants pass by and mock her. The current crown prince has the character "Jin" in his name. She must be hoping to become the prince's mother.
Jin Zi Jin has suffered from a leg ailment since childhood and is often sick. Though he is the crown prince, the emperor favors him not. Beneath his gentle exterior lies a dark and brooding nature.
A woman often appears in his dreams. She stands behind him, gently combing his dark hair, then leans close to his ear and whispers tenderly, "Xiao Jin, did you have a happy day today?"
Whenever he falls ill, she cares for him in his dreams, and his frail body soon recovers.
Jin Zi Jin knows that this woman is in the palace.
When he pushes his wheelchair to find her, she is holding a doll pieced together from scraps of cloth and calling it "Xiao Jin" in a gentle voice.
That Xiao Jin is the child she has imagined having with his father, the king.
She is a princess sent from Southern Zhao to marry into the royal family. On the day she entered the palace, she saw the head of the King of Southern Zhao and lost her mind. After Southern Zhao fell, her madness only grew worse. Her consort title was revoked long ago, and she was abandoned in a remote palace hall.
Jin Zi Jin rises and walks behind her, bending down. "Consort Mother Yu, are you calling me? Father doesn't favor you anyway. Why keep thinking about him? I'll kill him and avenge you."
"What's so good about that doll? Why don't you look at me instead, Consort Mother?"

I received the solution V rebate. Should I not continue writing this book?
How about a refund if you don't update? I'm speechless.
If I had known about Yuan Geng, I would have stopped watching it. I was speechless [Cracked]
I'm really going to collapse. In one of my favorite articles recently, the author told me that he would update it as it happened... I was hit hard in life... Why is it that every day in life seems like a tribulation... I really miss it 4
It's so funny. The writing of this book is obviously very good, but the author didn't write it when he had time. Instead, he opened a new book and continued writing. . . I originally thought that the author would stop writing at this point, but it turned out that it was just this one that was abandoned (speechless)
I'm really speechless if I don't update it [crack] [crack]
Hey, I really want to die halfway through eating this??
Why is the update discontinued? Damn! This book is so good. Can you please finish it? It's so good! Don't give up the update
