Gu Mingdong had been living in an apocalypse-style world when he woke up inside a period novel, as a thoroughly awful character.

The original owner was proud to be a peasant for eight generations, yet during the famine, he had watched three younger siblings and two sons starve to death. His entire family died, leaving only him.

So he gave up on everything and became a notorious local thug. In the end, he served as a stepping stone for the educated youth leads to return to the city, and died a miserable death.

Gu Mingdong stared in a daze at the row of gourd dolls beside his bed: one, two, three, four, five. Phew, they were all still alive!

Then he took another look and grinned.

Green mountains and clear waters, rich black soil ready for planting, and wild boars and pheasants roaming the hills with no owner. This was a famine?

Gu Mingdong wiped away his drool. He'd take this body, and he could fulfill the original owner's wish, too. All he had to do was raise the kids!

Many years later, after coasting to success, his only trouble was having too many kids at home:

His second younger brother, devoted to the sun and determined to join the army

His third younger sister, who wanted nothing more than to move to the city

His fourth younger sister, a pushover anyone could bully

His twin sons, who had no feelings beyond their love of food

[Blurb]

After transmigrating into the frail son of a vassal prince, Zhao Huai is sent off to a barren fief.

Zhao Huai: What a great deal!

Zhao Huai: I'm good at infrastructure development!

Who knew that in this world, the spirit arts of literature were widespread?

Literature could create spirits, characters could become weapons, books could become blades, and poetry could shape policy.

In plain terms: With spiritual power, you could soar to success. Without it, you could barely take a step!

Zhao Huai, who had no spiritual power: Me? A good-for-nothing?

Zhao Huai silently brought out his own technology tree!

Master math and science, and you can travel the world without fear~~

In later generations, he would be called:

The god who saved those who suffered without spiritual power

His descendants: He must have been a transmigrator

Zhao Huai: I just want to retire in peace
