This story retells the events of the second volume of The Book Girl.
If this story makes you interested in The Book Girl, go read it!
I just wanted to retell the events from Hotaru's perspective, since the original only explains the reasons at the end and can be a little confusing... Though I seem to have made a mess of it too. I've summed up the story at the end of the piece =v=
“...Although I hate you... although I don't love you at all... I once dreamed that if I lived in another story, I could meet you as your daughter... I also wished I could live in an ordinary, happy family, with you and Mom... Then no one would have to suffer misfortune... Not Dad, not Aunt Reiko, not me... not you... No one would have to be in so much pain...”
Includes excerpts from the original.
This is a tragedy. If you can't handle that, read with caution!

The second volume is very rough and tragic. Xue Qing's writing is also close to the original work. Handshake from fellow writers~
