Wen Muan's parents and Yan Xu's parents are friends. The two end up at the same university, and because of her poor health, Yan Xu's father asks him to look after her on campus.
Yan Xu sees right through his father's ulterior motives.
At school, Yan Xu treats Wen Muan as if she were invisible. He is even colder to her than he is to ordinary classmates.
Still, Wen Muan confesses to him.
She says, "I like you."
Yan Xu always wears a scowl around her, cold and aloof. He rejects her without hesitation: "But I don't like you!"
Wen Muan is devastated.
What she doesn't know is that on the night he rejected her, Yan Xu got dead drunk and lay on his bed, barely conscious.
He wonders, will things really stay like this between them for the rest of their lives?
But he can't accept it!

"Yao Yao": A playboy turns over a new leaf
Blurb:
Xu Jialan is the typical son of a wealthy family: carefree and debauched, he's dated countless women but never taken love seriously.
To avoid being forced into marriage by an ex-girlfriend, Xu Jialan is forced to hide away in Didai County, a remote backwater.
Chen Yao'an is the complete opposite of Xu Jialan. She's quiet and reserved, and never gets involved in trouble.
But one day, Xu Jialan, so out of place in this little town, suddenly barges into her life.
One night, the power goes out, leaving everything in darkness. Xu Jialan moves closer to her step by step, then leans in by her ear.
In a casual, teasing tone, he asks, "How about being my girlfriend?"
Chen Yao'an's ears turn red at once.
But she knows all too well that a man like him is trouble.
*
Who could have guessed that before long, Xu Jialan would be sitting pitifully outside Chen Yao'an's shop, like a dog waiting for its owner to come home so he can beg for forgiveness?
Chen Yao'an doesn't ask where he's been. She simply says, "You're back."
Hurt by her indifferent response, Xu Jialan asks in a more humble tone than ever before, "Have you never cared about me at all?"
Xu Jialan never imagined that he would fall for Chen Yao'an, let alone fall so hard.
