When Tang Lingfei rescued his childhood friend from the enemy's prisoner camp, the refined and elegant Fourth Young Master Bai was gravely wounded, on the brink of death, and had lost the use of both legs. During the year he was held captive, the enemy used potent drugs to force Bai Yifeng to change from an ordinary to a Kunze. The eldest prince of the Xie clan even forcibly bonded with him.
General Tang thought his heartache came from friendship alone. He took careful care of Bai Yifeng, hoping he could forget his nightmarish past. He observed every courtesy and never dared cross the line, afraid of offending Bai Yifeng. But the feelings stirring in his heart were beyond reason's control, growing stronger and stronger.
Only later did Tang Lingfei realize that he had fallen for the young master of the Bai family long ago, when the boy solemnly bowed to him with a pair of smiling, crescent-shaped eyes. It made no difference whether he was an ordinary or a Kunze.
Even when plum branches are coated in frost and ice, they can still bloom against the snow, cast off winter's chill, and welcome the warmth of spring.
May my beloved be safe and well, and may the nation know peace.
Content warnings:
1. Hurt/comfort, one-on-one, happy ending.
2. Gentle, steady general top x frail beauty bottom. They were childhood friends and secretly loved each other as teenagers. After being apart for several years, the bottom is brutally abused and grievously wounded, left with disabled legs and shattered both in body and spirit. The top brings him home to heal. (Please note: The bottom was forcibly marked by the enemy, changed from B to O, and suffered a miscarriage.)
3. Fantasy setting, no historical accuracy intended.
4. A self-indulgent story written for a friend. I actually just wanted to write a sweet, healing story with a couple cuddling... If this hits any of your sensitive spots, please click X. Love & Peace, thank you~
The title comes from the Song dynasty poet Li Qingzhao's "Fisherman's Pride: In the Snow, Spring's Arrival Is Already Known": "In the snow, spring's arrival is already known. Cold plum blossoms adorn the jade branches."
Theme: Love can heal everything.
