Huang Jianan, a female funeral director, vanishes under mysterious circumstances. For three whole months, no one sees her alive or finds her dead.
Rumors spread throughout the small town, leaving everyone on edge.
Lin Baocheng has just transferred to the criminal investigation squad when he takes over this thorny case.
The detectives are collecting evidence in Huang Jianan's rented apartment when a young woman walks in openly, dragging a suitcase behind her.
She asks the agent behind her, "Is this the place that's for rent?"
Everyone: ???
Can't you see the police tape at the door?
Lin Baocheng gives her a stern warning. "Ma'am, this may be a crime scene. Please step outside."
"A haunted house?" The woman sucks in a breath, then turns to the agent and whines, "Then can't you knock another three hundred off the rent?"
Everyone: ...
Lin Baocheng coldly sends her packing.
His first impression of her is terrible: she's foolish and reckless, the sort who wouldn't last three episodes in a crime drama.
Later, he realizes that she's genuinely fearless. She's Huang Jianan's replacement, the new female funeral director.
Note:
1. No ghosts or supernatural elements, but there is a tiny bit of horror.
2. A suspense romance, focused on solving cases, with romance as a subplot.
