[Frailty-ridden, gloomy, cruel ruler Jiang Yunhu x fiercely strong, madly devoted loyal dog Ying Changchuan]
***Ying Changchuan's perspective***
Ying Changchuan was cast aside by her ruler.
She was swept into a storm of schemes and power struggles. To put an end to the feud between the princesses, she was shackled in the death cells of the Court of Judicial Review, waiting for the cup of poisoned wine that would end her life.
The one who came to see her off was not the ruler she had longed for, the eldest princess Jiang Yuanzhang, but her enemy, the third princess Jiang Yunhu.
"If you can be the eldest princess's dog and bite me, why not become my dog and bite her instead?"
Fine. She would do it.
As long as she could avenge Jiang Yuanzhang for treating her like trash and ruining her family, she would do anything!
***Jiang Yunhu's perspective***
Jiang Yunhu had always known that Ying Changchuan seemed reliable and loyal, but deep down she had a streak of madness the eldest princess could never control.
As luck would have it, taming dogs was what she did best.
She had seized the opportunity to force Jiang Yuanzhang to cut off a loose end and use Ying Changchuan's life to settle the matter.
And she had gone to the death cells to bring this stray dog, who had lost everything, back to her manor.
What a delight to watch a mad dog turn around and bite its old master!
But this unbridled mad dog, impossible to rein in, would also knock on her door on cold nights, eyes red, kneel beside her footstool, and rest her chin on Jiang Yunhu's knee.
"Why should my ruler favor men? Whatever they can do, I can do too."
